ADVICE FROMPEOPLE WHOSHIP CODE.

AI consulting UK founders and enterprise teams can act on: strategy, roadmapping, and build-versus-buy calls from engineers who actually build the thing afterwards not consultants who hand over a slide deck and leave you to work out the hard part.

The problem

Most AI consulting UK companies pay for comes from people who have never had to ship it.

01

A strategy deck nobody can build from.

You pay for six weeks of workshops and receive a roadmap full of ambition and no engineering reality. No architecture, no cost model, no honest timeline. Your team reads it, quietly disagrees with half of it, and nothing gets built.

02

Vendor advice with a vendor's incentives.

Ask a platform which platform you need and you already know the answer. Build versus buy is the most expensive decision you will make in an AI project, and it should not be made by someone whose revenue depends on how you decide.

03

A half-built AI feature nobody will touch.

The demo worked. Then accuracy turned out to be worse than anyone measured, the costs did not scale, and now the feature sits in a branch nobody wants to own. You do not need a strategy. You need someone senior to look at it and tell you the truth.

This is AI consulting UK founders can act on: we give you the answer we would act on if we were building it ourselves, because usually we are the ones who would.

What you get

A written answer, not a workshop.

Every engagement ends with something concrete: a document your team can act on, and a call you can defend to your board. That is the bar for AI consulting UK boards will actually accept.

AI readiness assessment

An honest read on whether your data, your team, and your product are ready for what you want to build, and what has to change first.

Implementation roadmap

Sequenced phases with real engineering timelines and dependencies, written so a development team could pick it up and start on Monday.

Build versus buy recommendation

For each capability: build it, buy it, or leave it alone. With the reasoning, the cost comparison, and the point at which the answer flips.

Vendor and model evaluation

Which models and platforms actually fit your constraints on accuracy, latency, cost, and data residency. We have no reseller relationships to protect.

Cost model

What the build costs, what the inference costs at your volume, and where the bill grows faster than the value if you are not careful.

Second opinion on existing work

If you already have an AI feature half-built, a senior review of the architecture, the evaluation, and whether it is worth finishing.

How we build

Three ways to work with us. Pick the one that fits the question.

Is this the right fit

We are direct about who we work best with.

This is right for you if

You want AI consulting UK boards will not pick apart.

  • You have an AI roadmap question and a board or investors who will ask how you reached the answer
  • You are evaluating whether to build AI into your product, buy a platform, or wait
  • You have a half-built AI feature and need a senior second opinion before spending more on it
  • You are an enterprise team assessing where AI genuinely fits and where it does not
  • You want AI consulting UK investors will take seriously when they ask how you reached the answer
  • You need the decision to survive UK GDPR, procurement, and an internal audit
  • You want an answer from someone who will still be right when the build starts
Probably not the right fit if

You want something we cannot do well.

  • You want a strategy document to justify a decision you have already made
  • You want AI in the roadmap for the next funding round rather than for users
  • You need a six-month transformation programme with a workstream diagram
  • You are looking for someone to agree that everything needs AI

If any of these describe you, we will tell you on the first call rather than waste your time or ours.

What founders say

Results over promises.

David

David

Founder at Seconddate

Foundry 5 really impressed me with their work on my AI-powered dating app. They nailed the UI/UX, starting with core app screens and then translating that vision to the web. The React site they built is sleek and polished - exactly what I was hoping for. What I appreciated most was their thoughtful approach and how easy they were to work with. They got the job done without needing me to micromanage.

Phil Blows

CEO at StreaksAI

Foundry 5 surpassed all expectations in delivering our web development product swiftly and flawlessly. Their speed and eye for detail, especially under tight time constraints, showcase their commitment to excellence.

Liam Farley

Liam Farley

CEO, Xcelsior Capital

Working with Foundry 5 has been a great experience from start to finish. They seamlessly translated our vision into a website that not only showcases our brand and operations but also enhances our online presence as an investor in natural resources. Nothing was too much for them and they always put the client first.

Loom Founder

Foundry 5 have gone above and beyond to bring my vision of Loom to life. Not only this, but they continue to be an integral part of our team. They are lovely people to work with, and I recommend them to anyone looking for a software partner. Particularly for non-technical tech founders (like me!) who need to ensure that their business is in safe hands.

That is the most common reason people call us, and it is a perfectly good question to bring. We have told clients on the first call that a rules engine, better search, or fixing an onboarding flow would serve them better than a model, and we have turned down the resulting project. You will get a straight answer, including the answer that you do not need us.

Yes. A full day with your team, remote or in person. We pressure-test the use case, map the realistic options, and you leave with a written recommendation and a rough roadmap with cost ranges. It is the right format when you have a specific decision to make and do not need a two-week investigation to make it.

An honest read on whether you can actually build what you want to build. We look at your data (do you have enough, is it clean, are you allowed to use it), your architecture (can it support the workload), your team (who maintains this after launch), and the use case itself (is a model even the right tool). It names what has to change before anything gets built.

We are the people who would build it. That changes what the advice looks like: timelines are costed against real engineering effort, the architecture is one we would be willing to implement, and nothing goes in the roadmap that we could not defend in a code review. You get a short written document rather than a programme of workstreams.

No reseller agreements and no commissions. When we say a model or a platform fits your constraints, that is because it fits your constraints on accuracy, latency, cost, and data residency, not because someone pays us. If the honest answer is an open model running in your own environment, that is what the document will say.

Often the most valuable engagement we do. A senior review of the architecture, the evaluation approach, the cost model, and the failure modes, ending with a clear recommendation: finish it, rebuild that part, or stop. Sunk cost is not a reason to keep going, and it is easier to hear that from someone outside the team.

Whatever you want. You own the roadmap and every document in it, and you can hand it to your own team, another agency, or nobody. If you want us to build it, we can, and the scope is already written. There is no obligation either way, and we are not going to hold the roadmap hostage to win the build.
